Experience Tasmania operates this website and the Experience Tasmania social media accounts. This policy explains how information is handled when this website is visited or when the Experience Tasmania social channels and internal social-media tools are used.
Information this website collects
This is a lightweight informational website. The website does not provide public user accounts, payment processing, newsletter sign-up or advertising trackers. Experience Tasmania uses lightweight first-party analytics to understand website traffic and guide popularity. The analytics do not use cookies, browser storage, advertising identifiers or third-party analytics. To estimate unique and returning visitors, ordinary server request information such as IP address and browser user-agent is processed transiently and converted into a pseudonymous one-way identifier; raw IP addresses and user-agent strings are not stored in the analytics database. The database records page paths, dates and times, session information, referring domains and aggregate traffic counts. Hosting and security logs may separately retain ordinary technical request information for a limited period in order to deliver and protect the site.
The website also counts how often visitors use a guide's sharing controls and click through to the Penna Airbnb listing. These are first-party daily aggregate interaction counts, not confirmations that an external share was published or that a booking occurred. No additional cookies or advertising trackers are used for these counts.
Facebook and Instagram
Experience Tasmania uses Meta's developer tools to operate its own Facebook Page and Instagram professional account. Internal tools may process account and media identifiers, publishing and scheduling information, content status and performance insights associated with Experience Tasmania's accounts. A public Facebook or Instagram login is not offered through this website.
How information is used
Information is used only to operate and secure this website, understand website traffic and which travel guides are being viewed, measure broad patterns such as page views, estimated unique and returning visitors and referral sources, administer Experience Tasmania's social accounts, publish content, understand content performance and maintain service reliability.
Sharing and sale of information
Experience Tasmania does not sell personal information. Technical information may be processed by service providers that help host, secure or operate the website and social channels, including the hosting provider, Cloudflare and Meta, subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Retention
